Your Role
We are seeking an experienced Dispute Team Lead to oversee and optimize our dispute and chargeback operations, with a strong focus on PayPal dispute management. This role is ideal for a data-driven leader who excels at analyzing numbers, improving processes, managing high-volume dispute queues, and ensuring operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a critical role in reducing financial loss, maintaining healthy payment operations, and proactively anticipating dispute trends.
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work confidently with numbers, metrics, and financial data.
- Proven experience in dispute management, chargebacks, payment operations, or related risk functions.
- Ability to monitor dispute escalations, root causes, and recurring patterns to implement corrective action plans.
- Experience building or optimizing SOPs, workflows, and operational processes.
- Deep understanding of dispute and chargeback rules, timelines, and evidentiary standards.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a high-performing operations team.
- Experience managing PayPal disputes at scale, not just occasional case handling is preferred
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Couple of the notes about the role
- This is not a salaried position. This is an Independent Contractor role.
- You must be able to commit at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
- We require everybody in the team to use Hubstaff (https://hubstaff.com/) to track hours worked.
Compensation
We pay on an hourly basis — we’re open to reviewing rates based on experience and expertise. This role may have performance incentives.
